I have been thinking about that to. Our purple xB is more our group hauler, the black xB is more show. I dont have the proper tools to cut steel and weld, so till this summer, this will have to do. when i get to texas, i might re do it all in steel, and weld it up. Thanks for the concern!!

How far do they recline before they hit the shock towers or hatch?

 

so, will they be upholstered the same? I think it looks pretty good. I would also build a wood, or fiberglass panel to cover the back up.....

Looking good! I guess I will not really need much of a custom center console for this. There isnt any room inbetween the seats. I cant wait for my seats to get here and get started!

that looks good lovin the recline. you could take the brackets out and have them copied in steel by your friendly local machine/fab shop prolly cost ya about 50ish

is it possible to put more room between the seats and fit a console?

I think it is possible to space the seats out a little further, but the recline would be lost and the center gap still may not be enough for a functional console.

 

my seats have about 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch for room from the wall, not much more room to go out. I was thinking today of a stronger way to mount these seats. afte a little more $$$ comes in, i might run it down to a local tuner shop and have them weld up some iron brackets.

cool idea... but does it recline enough you can still fit large boxes in the back such as with the old seat?

 

if you pull the head rests off you can stuff decent size boxes in the back, they dont lay down like the old back seats at all.

 

Do you have any close up pics of the mounting points you used with the seats installed? My seats came in today, so I will begin gutting tomarrow!

 

i can take some pics and post up. Ive got a new idea, a much stronger idea, ill post that up in a diagram when i get back from our scion meet.

 

Well I removed the bench and all the crap out of the box today. Now I just need to get the brackets fabbed up for mounting the seats.
