I don't think this one is that bad. But call me a metro but you don't wear yellow cloths with gold jewelry, therefore you shouldn't have a yellow car with gold accents If it had silver trim I think you would be money.

I guess bottom line. Whatever you like is what is best despite mine and everyone elses opinions.

I think Rudy is on to something. That would pull it all in tight. IMO, whatever that is worth...

yes, if you paint it the same yellow as your dash and get a white light rather than a soft yellow, that would be fvcking money!

I was thinking if you could find a smaller glass part but with the same kind if facets cut in the glass. It would be better proportioned size wise.

okay
bassist1217: when i went out last night i forgot to take pics i'll try to remember tonite. sorry.
jsa3mm: that is kinda a problem it only goes on when the door is open. i'm still tryin to get it so i can use it with out the door being open.
jethro_b: heres the problem with a light any smaller than the one i have. the dome light is about 6 in. wide. plus the headliner has an inset where the domelight goes which extends about and inch more on each side. that makes about 8. mine is 9 in diameter. so that extra one inch wont make much of a diff.

Your right Yellow Sub. My bad. For my replacement dome light I used an aftermarket one from Auto Zone. It came with a push button switch. With alittle triming it actually fit the base plate of the stock light.
I also added an extra one up front between the sunvisors but had to use a less bright bulb. It works great for reading maps at night.
I now understand the diameter but what about the distance it hangs down? Can the base be modded so it doesn't hang so far?

yeah it can be shortened. ya see how it's kinda 2 tiered? well the screw holes aren't until the second tier. so i could probably take off an inch, inch and a half or so. the only problem is cutting it off i'm afraid i won't cut it off perfectly straight and it won't sit flush thus letting light leak through the top

If you have a flat table you can mark it by turning it. Then cut it off a little long and then use a belt sander and sneek up on the line. Then keep sanding till it is flat or use a piece of door edge guard material along the cut edge and paint to match.
