Default New Pioneer CD-IB100 for IPOD - Finally Out

It's available. I just ordered one off Ebay. The guy said he has 10 of them....well 9 now

Pioneer CD-IB100 offers total control from head unit to IPOD:

* lets you control your iPod directly from your compatible Pioneer in-dash radio
* sends song, artist, album, and time information to your Pioneer radio's display
* recharges iPod battery
* search by playlist, genre, artist, album, and song
* IP-Bus pass-through lets you connect a compatible satellite radio tuner or CD changer
* cable included

Do you think this will work with the stock Scion Pioneer head unit? The connections on the back aren't like any other Pioneer stereo. They're the specific wiring harness connectors for Scion/Toyota vehicles. I'm sure this won't work as the stock stereo doesn't have an IP-Bus connector.

I was reading the IPOD forum and there were peeps on there saying it will also work on the older P bus (before IP) systems.

not real cheap, $110 which included shipping off ebay. Crutchfield wanted $120 plus shipping. This is so much easier than dealing with CD's...carrying them, scratching them up, friends bumming them off me and never returning them, etc.

The advertising on Crutchfield says only players with a "P" in the system name, but the Pioneer forum says any IP based and some older P based systems it should work just fine.

It's just such a drag not having a decent way of using the IPOD. This better work like they say

So do you have a factory Pioneer head unit or did you replace it?

I replaced my unit a few weeks ago. But on the back of the stock Pioneer there are 4 connector points and only 2 are used for power and speakers/sub. What are the other 2 connectors for?

Want real, full iPod connectivity? Buy an aftermarket head unit.

One is for the XM satellite radio and I'm not sure about the other. It's not an IP-Bus connector though. The stock stereo connectors bear no resemblance to any Pioneer product, but they're identical to other stock Toyota stereos. If an item says "Will work with factory Toyota stereos" that's the thing you want to buy.

is there any other products like this that will work with a kenwood head unit? I checked out iCruze but that dosen't seem to be compatible with anything beyond stock head units or something.

^^^^ nothing available yet here stateside this is a story from febuary on Engadget says sometime this year but it looks to have the same limitations as the Alpine system with its playlist requirement and 255 song limit not to mention its slowness...
