Sounds like you're interested in these huh
they aren't retro friendly based on design alone .. but i was just curious where the aiming screws were.. ive seen a few different pics ... and just was wondering how they were adjusted

i actually am looking at using the other style projector housing that just came out in black for a possible retro.. though the cost of the lights is alot ...

Sol and Munch,There is a plate inside the projector housing that cuts the light output in half,I don't know if its illegal,I removed it and it seems to give much better coverage of the road.If you happen to take it apart there is only one screw that holds it in place, after removing it the plate just lifts out.

That plate is a shield to direct light. I think you're going to be blinding people by taking it out

Then I guess we'll have to live with lights that don't work.I'm putting back the stockers so that I don't end up running into something.Good luck

If you guys are looking to make the low beam brighter... try using Sylvania Silverstars 9005 (9005 bulb is the same as a civics low beam). I put those in my stock fog lights and head lights and it looks as bright as HID. I am sure they would help out those projectors out big time.

I am still unsure if I will get these projectors until I see them in person..

Good Luck

Sol,That Pontiac is nice!you should keep it!If you don't sell it,drop me a e-mail after the bidding is up.Is the drive train and engine in good shape?I have the same wheels on my 55 Customline,I'm lowering mine down with 2.5 drop spindles and 1 inch springs in the front and 3 inch leafs in the rear.I bought my xb for a daily driver, but I love the old metal much better.Cars like those go for a bundle of cash here in California. iansdada@sbcglobal.net

I picked up a set of the Sylvania Silverstars today but I got the 9006. The 9005 is a high beam running 65 watts. The 9006 is a low beam running 55 watts. I was going to pick up the 9005 but the only pack they had at Wally world was open so I did not want to chance it. It is not fully dark here yet so I don't know for sure how they will be but I checked a few minutes ago and I think they are going to be a huge improvement. I will let you know how they look in another hour.

Holly crap batman!!!
The Sylvanias are the answer. I could not wait for it to get totally dark so I just took my box for a drive around the corner. I am concerned that these may be too bright!!! They look great!!! My passenger side one does not have the sharp cut off that the driver's does so I may need to make sure the bulb is centered. I am amazed at the difference. Wally world has them for $34.95 for a set of two bulbs and it is well worth it.

The bulb shape on the 9005 is different, do you still have the sharp cut off? Just realized that you said you added them to the stock and fog lights so never mind.

I just took another drive. I am concerned that my passenger side light may be going up too high and be a problem. I just flipped on the brights and they look totally yellow compared to the low beam. It looks like at set of the Silverstar 9005's may be next for the high beams. After the bulbs cool I will remove the passenger side one and see if it looks straight.

I took some new pics with the new bulbs in. The picture should be lighter than it is but I could not force my camera to the same setting because of the extra light. The link to all the pictures I have taken is here http://www.my68chevelle.com/scion_pics.htm
