Each LED also has a ballast, and they look brighter than your run of the mill 44 cent LED. Take a look at the pics I posted above, they look brighter than some of the weak halogens that are out there.
i would love to know what the "ballast" is "ballast"ing ..

do you even know what a ballast is or does?

UH....Ya, ballasts regulate the ammount of electricity that flows to the bulb, so why would the ballast on a LED regulate anything other than what a ballast regulates on an HID bulb?

ballasts are used to start and maintain a specific "ammmmmmmount" otherwise known as "voltage" supplied to the HID. do you know what that voltage is? it certainly is NOT 12V,

sorry, but "ballasts" are not something an LED use. and LED only requires 1-2VOLTS of electricity to operate, and resistors are used to lower the current when the voltage used is higher than 1-2 volts.

LED'S DO NOT USE BALLASTS.

PIAA makes the most overpriced lighting.

they sell HID (real HID bulbs) for over $300 a pair...when a new one from Philips or Osram can be found for under $100 a pair.

about LEDs. the only thing attached to them are diodes, resistors, or if you want diff. brightness, maybe a PWM circuit. ballasts are used in only gas-charged arc light applications (HIDs, primarily)

Why do you assume that I know absoltely nothing? I kow what a ballast does, and I know how many volts a LED runs off of ( its 1 Volt in this case). I'm not going to even argue with you. If you would do a search on these bulbs, then you would see how every site says that each LED has its own ballast. Just because LED's in the past have not used ballasts is no reason why the new generation of LED's wouldn't. There is no use arguing with me, because I can read whats written and I'm just re-writing that information onto here. If you dont believe me, do a search.

PIAA is big on hype.... rather than say they use regular LED's and regular resistors, of COURSE they'd say they were using "NEXT GENERATION" led's and "BALLASTS".
just because PIAA says it, doesn't make it true.. if that were so, i'd believe that APC headlight bulbs produced a pure "HID" light.
