Default OEM Steering Wheel Swap Help!

so i have a 2005 xB and i think the steering wheel is ugly.

my first choice would be the leather wrapped steering wheel from a celica gt-s or matrix xrs etc, however i learned that these will not work. the wheel fits perfectly but the type of airbag is different and the xB airbag wont fit either. so that is out

my next question is, has anyone tried an echo steering wheel? i think they are nicer than mine and if it came in black then this would be my new first choice if itll fit. our cars are so similar so i think this would be more likely. the main concern is if the airbag will plug and play or not. i also like that there is a toyota emblem in the center instead of scion.

if anyone has any info about the echo wheel, or any other possible scion swaps (tC, newer xA/xB) please let me know!

you could always go sparco or momo but you would however be sacraficing the airbag; I dont know if insurance would like that to much lol

Have you checked out the OEM leather steering wheel? I really like it and the airbag, of course, fits nicely.

i don't have an xb but i think the xb and the xa share the same wheel and airbag. i replaced mine with the leather tc wheel and an echo airbag. you need to find the airbag with two plugs. you will need the shroud behind the steering too if you decided to go with a different steering wheel.

oh no, the wheel is from the tc and the airbag is from the echo. i would have used the tc aitbag but i believe the plug is different from the xa/xb. the echo bag has the same plug as the xa/xb and fits perfectly on the tc wheel.

I just got a leather 2008 tC steering wheel and everything fit except the airbag mounting points, I can't see your photos right now because my work internet blocks personal storage photos-but is that the same problem you had?
