Will a side/top post style Optima RedTop fit in the stock battery location?

well when i bought my xB i was in the process of selling my 94' ford ranger, well in my truck i had the Optima Red top truck batt... (middle size, but biggest you can bough from pepboys $135, i think) well when i brough my box home, this was perfect time to save the batter, so i swapped them. My poor truck could barely turn over w/ the small scion battery... As for the Optima, it was a tight squeeze but fit! the only prob i had was the battery was about 2" shorter, so i had to mod the batt clamp a lil, but i love it, much quicker starts, and system makes lights blink alot less. Plus the scion batt if you drain it dead 2 times, it;s trashed, the red top you can drain it 50 time and still be in the 10 year warrenty!!! Now i think the yellow is 50,000 times b/c it's a deep cycle. I think mine only has the top post, if it has the sides, i dunno i never use them

I have the red top 34/75 in my xB. Fits fine. Its a little shorter, so you have to get smaller jhooks, but it fits...

 

Red tops/Yellow Tops/Blue Tops, they all fit fine. If you use a battery cage you have to modify a hair, but it all still works.
