Default P.I.E TOY03-AUX install question..

(yes its another iPod thread)

I'm going to connect my iPod to my tC using the PIE TOY03-AUX from discountcarstereo:

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=548

just wanted to make sure this will work with my stock single-CD HU.

I have not done this...but from what I can remember reading...it should work. However, I don't believe you will be able to control the iPod, or view any of the titles off of the head unit. I believe the adaptor simply converts the satellite connection into an auxiliary input.

yes it will work.. you have to push the "disc" button twice and the unit will work as an aux input..

I've talked to P.I.E. and people who have used the unit on this forum.. both have said it works and works well.. of course you won't have control of the ipod, but hey at least you have a direct input.. but yes it'll work.. let us know how it goes

Yeah, what they said. I recommend you use a cable that has an ipod dock connector so you can use the line-out feature on the ipod..for example, the sik imp. Using the line-out on the ipod is so much better than using the headphone-out socket.

i'm going to sound dumb for asking but on an aftermarket pioneer deck is there a aux in ? I know my deck has an aux setting but I can't find the input in the back , only input I can find is for a wired remote or cd changer , I forget which.

Well, the sik imp allows you to use the dock connector's line-out connection...which is better than the headphone out since it is unamplified (in this case, it's bad)...

You can buy a cable for the aftermarket pioneer that will make the IP-bus connection into a AUX-In costs like 20 or 30 bucks from crutchfied
