Painting the Dash Kit
It is very easy. Remove ***** from climate control to expose 2 screws, then cneter dash trim snaps off. A clip and a couple screws at the gauge cluster and a few more screws exposed, also 1 each behind the dash speaker grilles, and one thru access square above glovebox,,,whole dash top now comes off in your hand. About 10 mins once you know where the fasteners are. After that it is just a matter of finishing the dash the way you want and snapping it back on .
Yes to make a slick gloss dash you will need to sand then apply adhesion promoter for plastic (bulldog perhaps is a good choice), then prime. After that wet sand with about 320 grit and if not totally smooth reprime and resand, then finally paint and clearcoat. Then for the best look wewtsand and buff the clear
well I want a dull finish like whats already there but painted to match the car, I'm just worried about the airbag, the painter at work said for the interior parts we would just mix clear and color together that it would hold up really well

Could not have gotten those results without some prep. I sanded a bit with about 300grain (made in china, no number ref) sand paper. Cleaned it off. Did the obvious blue taping for detail, then added the catalog paper to protect the areas from paint.
1 coat of Auto zone primer, waited 20min. Another Primer coat. waited 30min. Then 1 decent coat of color 3Q3 for my car.
Waited 1hr then I put on 1 medium coat of Acrylic clear coat. Waited 25min and laid one more light coat of clear coat.
Left it to dry at around 1:20am. I installed it around 10am
Clear enough?
