Pioneer Car Deck Interface Adapter for AppleŽ iPod
I found this at best buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1108124556353, and was wondering if anyone else might have installed this type of i-Pod connector. I saw some of the others posted, but I want a connection that will allow the stereo to control the i-Pod. I plan on doing the installation my self and will post it if you guys want me to. Anyway, give me some feed back.
I have it installed on my Avic-1 and its ok. Its nice because it will charge your ipod while it is connected, But it is difficult to search for artist as you have to scroll one by one in alphabetical order, unless you unplug it and then find the artist and then plug it back in. If you do decide to get my recommendation is to make lots of playlist even like ur favorite CDs as a playlist as it will be easier for you to select the songs you want to hear.

Well I don't know how the ipod interface works in the 06 stereo. But before i bought the cd-b100 i use an auxilary input instead and that work good to but you can't control the ipod from the headunit. But you could search for songs on the ipod while it was connected though. So there are pros and cons to both setups. Oh yeah another nice feature of the cd-b100 is the volume control is preset for you. So it sounds the same everytime you use it. But with the auxilary input you control the volume like normal and you have to set it to about half so it doesn't distort the sound.
Thanks for the input. I went to Best Buy today and talked with the sales dood. He said that if I buy the part there, they will install it for free. So I'm heading out there tomorrow afternoon and save my self the trouble of installing it myself since it is for free. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
This I believe is aftermarket. I don't know what Scion is using to connect the i-Pod to the new 06 head unit. Although this thing I'm getting done is made by pioneer so I'm guessing what ever the stock part they use is very similar.

It sucks...I have had it for a while and it blows..it only displays 8 characters of text...I have it on the AvicN1 and figured it woulda worked sick when I bought it when it first came out...Like Westype said make a lot of playlists
What is the set up like? What buttons on the stereo actually control the i-Pod? I've been trying to figure it out, but if you could tell me how you navigate with it, it might help me decide not to buy it, and find another means.

well, on the Avic you use the track button left/right to go through songs, up/down to go through playlists. Then you gotta go into the Aux setting to switch through diff modes...its hard to explain and even harder to use...Im surprised that pioneer really would put such junk out on the market.
