Whaaaaat! Didn't you just redesign the box for the 12's? Sounds like your just buring money my man. Get your taxes done.....that will give you a little extra cash. I'm spending my entire refund on a 240amp alternator and that's not including installation! I here those Crystal 8's are sweet. I heard 4 RE 8's hit 150 in an S10 and they got soooo low. I was really impressed.

I'm getting the Double Shot loaded with the MX9500 12's. I know that's going to freaking romp! I'm excited......
Won't be too long now and I'll hope to hit low to mid 150's!

 

im not really burning money because i sold my three subs nd thebox for more than wht i put into it, and im only going to be using 3 8's for now. im selling the other one to my buddy nd im going to try to get three more soon after i buy my components for the front, which i am buying with the money from my taxes after i pay some bills. good luck with those mtx subs i heard they rock, im going more for a clean sound right now because im thinking of buying another vehicle to play with for sound offs only.

 

Made a profit. That's cool. I hear the MTX have respectable sq in the snail shells. I wanted something that hit realla hard and but didn't sound like garbage doing it!
I'm getting some diamond hex components because I've heard nothing but good things about them.

thats cool, i was thinking of getting the crystal components because i also heard they were pretty tight. i went ahead and made box for them already just need to get them in, hopefully on friday.

 

you've gotta be kidding me. That's not the correct method for determining cone area. look at the spec sheet of the sub and find Sd, that will give you the correct amount of area.

 

i just want a supid-loud sub...quality isnt to big an issue to me still being young and all. whats a stupid-loud 15 sub. and nothing crazy like a 5000 watt. im talkin 2000-2500 max and not super pricy. maybe less that 500

 

It all depends on your setup man. There are sooooo many great subs on the market I honestly can't pick one. If you want stupid loud get the RE MT or the MTX RFL. I think you are going to want street beat subs rather than those because they are mainly for competition. They need a lot of power as well.
The MTX 9500's are rated at 1000watts and they get louder and are more durable than the W7's but aren't nearly as good sounding.
The RE XXX are rated at 1600watts and they are great.
The Eclipse Ti are a loud speaker but have good SQ.
I don't recommend getting something strictly competition oriented in your daily driver. You will get sick of it quick trust me. Of course if you don't take my advice then your just going to have to learn the hard way. It's like your father would tell you somethig and you would have to do it anyway just to try it. Then after you've tried it you know exactly what he is talking about. It's human nature........

Ya the XXX is a great sub if you want it to get real loud, but I hear that DD 15" will get louder except DD's are like $500 but you can get an Audio Q 15" for less and its the same sub becuase its made by the Dad of the guy who runs DD. Heck last year a pair of 10" won at the world finals for spl(in street A) I think you can hit like 159db with them.

The TDX is a great speaker but almost hitting 160db with a single 12 doesnt seem feasible to me at all....
There are people that have 3 12's that aren't getting anywhere near that....
I'm hoping to hit mid 150's when I get my 2 MTX 9500 12's each will be getting around 1000watts.....
But I still think that is wishful thinking...

 

i had 3 12's hitting 144.8 but now, im not sure what im hitting with my three 8's but ill find out this weekend in south padre.
