Default plexy protection for my sub

not that good looking but it serve its purpose.

been hauling a lot of stuff in the xB, but it sucks when I can't put something on that space, and the fear that something might slide/drop there, so I fab this protector out of 1/4" plexy glass.
BTW, the sub sound quality is the same(did not notice difference with or w/o it).

Why don't you just buy a speaker grille? There's lots of different styles if you want something fancy.

I'd have to see it full on, but if it doesn't get foggy from sun or whatever, I like it. Something different than just a grill. Should be no effect on sound unless it rattles.

it does not affect at all, no rattle in any way. i was about to put some cut outs in the middle, but when i test fit it, and tried the sound quality, theres not much difference, so I stayed that way.
thats an extra piece of plexy glass i found lying at my warehouse(no value). ran the jigsaw for size, then sandwich it with 2 board exposing the bend line. then heat gun it til it bent. then file the edges with moto tool, file and sandpaper.
i'm too cheap to buy a grille, and the grille i've seen look weak. I put my weight on this glass(140) and it did not break.
that clarion sub cost about $199 retail, I got it for $40 at work since we make them for Clarion. I could have got it for free, but my boss is too cheap i have to pay the manufacturer's cost.
getting it foggy is the least of my concern, scratches, i don't mind either.

Can you post a picture of your overall setup? I can't tell if you sub is horizontal or vertical.

I like it, floor box too, very nice. Did you just buy a prefab box and sink it into the floor? And I take it that's an XB? Very practical solution.

yes its xB. I limit my budget on mods, i fab what i can fab. no i just fab my own box, then cover it with felt material similar to what they cover sub box, like a yard for $3 from fabric store. the fiber board, its a scrap from work, wood glue, screws nails, sealant, all from works previos projects.
