Default Prices prices prices... (Audio releated please)

I was thinking... Since everyone wants stuff bought, where are the best places to save at?

Now don't let the title throw you off... We don't want those stupid internet shops with zero customer service on here... Price is second to what you get... We will take into consideration a problem WILL occur and you have to get customer service as #1... It dosen't have to be first class as long as they are legit and willing to sort out any problem you might run into...

As for now, I'm wodering if any shop freaks out there can get a lower price for:

Date March ,30, 2004

Orion XTR Pro 2400
http://speakersound.com $899.99 + 8.25% tax in Ca. + (Assumed free shipping)
Ebay $481 + 8.25% tax Ca. + $34 shipping

Phoenix Gold Ti 400.2
http://www.sounddomain.com $309.95 + (Washington tax %) + (Weight calculated shipping at checkout)
http://www.thezeb.com $359 + 7% tax North Carolina + Free shipping
Ebay $299 + No tax listed + No shipping cost listed but will use UPS from Florida

Infinity Perfect 6.1
http://speakersound.com $309 + 8.25% tax Ca. + (Assumed free shipping)
http://www.sounddomain.com $339 + (Washington tax %) + (weight calculated shipping at check out)
Ebay ~$185 + (Assumed state tax) + $25 shipping

Kicker S15L7 4 or 2 ohm
Ebay ~$189 + No sales tax listed + $25 or $33 (listed two different prices for shipping... Didn't bother to ask)

Too lazy to search up the L7 since it's pretty easy to get them cheap now...

But those were my prices... I was wodering if anyone can find a good price from a good vendor...

I personally purchased from Speakersound.com and Sounddomain.com, TheZEB.com is very popular and is widely used... I do recommend any of these sites for people who want to purchase off ebay...

I might most of the time shop on ebay anyways since some are ebay shops which have good customer service...

Anywho, PLEASE either find a lower price, or add new itmes to this list to keep it going... Also please date your finds!!!

i can vouch for etronics:

bought the wrong amp, they shipped it at 3:45 the morning after i ordered, i emailed them and told them i ordered the wrong thing, they promptly replied saying it wasn't a problem, and that i just needed to refuse the UPS guy, who came 2 days later on ups ground shipping, sent it back, got a full refund other than shipping

very communicative, very low prices, very fast shipping

Need to be careful with online retailers though because a lot of them are not "authorized _________(various brand names here) retailers" so a lot of the warranties are not existent from the company. If you buy online you may only be able to deal with the website instead of the company.

Besides,

Most of the time they do warranties from their own site.. I've even dealt with a few nice drop ship websites...

Nexxon.com is one of them, the guy that runs the place replies by email or even AIM and you can get a quick price qoute or just ask him about whatever it is you see on the site... I sent in my bad amp and got it fix... Obviously it wasn't professional but it came back working...

As for authorized dealers... It's nice to have manufacture's warranty, but sometimes getting the manufacture to fix your item is harder than a good internet provider... I've had so much gripe about my Western Digital HD a few years ago and made me rethink the whole warranty issue...

As for car audio, I usually buy cheap because I can usually save as much as 1/2 off form authorized dealers... So either:

1) Brands start LOWERING their prices to realistic sales prices... (It's not the shop's fault for the pricing, it's the manufacture)

2) Dealers make special offers to attarct more buyers, (say free t-shirts, free gizmos to go with whatever you're buying, future rebates, etc...)

3) Replace bad items with new ones instead of refurbish :D (This alone might be worth the extra money!!)

As for the XTR Pro 2400, it's seriously a 1K+ amp, for ~$500 on ebay, how can you support your local audio dealer?

Easily, drive down to the local stereo shop and purchase the amp from them.

Just Kidding, point taken. I agree if you can find it for half the price and the warranty is not such a big deal to you then it would be hard to buy anywhere else.

For the local stereo shop I deal with I always bring them prices I find on the net and they will beat any of them just to keep my business so that is why I stay in the local shop scene.

Heck, if you know of a shop that can sell me a XTR Pro 2400 for $570 out the door I'll drive down there and pick up about 5... Save up for a SoloX and I'll bring the house down!!! It's always better to deal with real people than emails!!! (Heck, if the amp is 570, I already have enough for a SoloX...)

Seriously tho, what is the lowest price for a XTR Pro 2400 anyone found?

Edit:

Sad to say that the ebay deal has ended and the same seller has posted another deal for the amp for $569!! Thats $80 more than the last deal... Although still a good deal, it's totally past the peak of savings Too bad I don't have a tC yet...
