Default PROBLEMS WITH (2) 13Kv.2s & a NINe.2x...

Hey everyone, I'm having a little dilemma with my setup. I'm currently running a NINe.2x with (2) 13Kv.2s, a NINe.2 with a set of eDi6500s, in a 2006 Scion xB. I had it installed by a certified installer whom is a friend of mine.
I've been so incredibly happy with this setup up until a week or two ago. I'm driving along one day and I hear the subs hit insanely loud! (Which in this case is a bad thing) Out of nowhere the subs will just hit so loud that they sound like they're going to blow. It started out happening only while going over bumps, but now it does it consistently. I took it back to my installer and he said that it was most likely a loose wire somewhere. I then called and spoke with someone at Elemental Designs, and they pretty much said the same thing but added that I should not play the stereo because it's possible the subs could blow. I took it to my installer and he took the car apart attempting to find the loose wire, but couldn't find one! It's still doing it, and I just have no clue what it could be? Has anyone ever heard anything like this???
I'd appreciate any feedback you guys can give me.
Thanks so much!

Sounds like a loose wire!

How about inside the sub enclosure? Maybe one of the wires is loose? Other than that, the rest should be obvious to a pro installer.

x2 on not playing until somethings found. Those spikes can be killer.

G/L!

probobly not this but... on the off chance your gain adjustment set screw is really loose, and vibrates while you are driving in theory it could vibrate and turn and spike your gain, but in reality it would not spike up and down, it would probobly just spike up and stay there.. it's worth checking though... are you using the stock herad unit / hi low inputs? aftermarket deck with rca outs?

check inside..this happened to me ... the subs have a wire thats the connection where it receives electric current from your speaker wire...they were touchin and i was gettin this CRAZY loud hits..i felt that thing was going to blow.. which it almost did.. it burnt my amp..lol but i got a new one. dont play with it..take out your fuse in your engine compartment if you got the fuse that is applied to your system before it reaches your battery terminal. other than that make sure ur wire are not touching or the positive terminal on the box is not touching anything related to ground. if you find that its none of these..take the subs back.. have you been hittin them pretty hard?

My installer looked over everything and said it wasn't a loose wire. I don't hit the subs hard at all! Somebody said that it's most likely the RCA's? I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to this stuff, I'm such a girl!

Have you tried notacop's suggestion from ICIX?
