Default Problems Installing Line Out Converter

well, i have a few amps laying around. so i decided to hook up an amp in the xB today.

i got the line out converter a wal-mart. not the best, but i bought it cause i was there and it worked for me on a previous install.

the converter is a blue sosche converter which can be found at any walmart.

i spliced the rear speakers into the converter behind the HU. the wires cam out of the white plug from behind the HU. i spliced the yellow, black, red and whitewires. there was another wire but i don't know what it's for.

after wiring the amp, and getting power i decided to test it out with a sub. first i got no sound.

then i disconnected one of the wires from the converter and got a little bit of sound. it sounds as if the amp is not getting a strong signal from the converter.

the amp works fine and gets power so i know that's not the problem.

any ideas?

did i use the right wires?

you probably used the right wires but make sure that all you connections are right. sounds like your canceling each side out.

LR Speaker + black, - yellow
RR Speaker +red; - white

hope this helps,

should be right just make sure your polarity is correct and don't forget to switch it to line out...

Look at page 142 of the xB Wiring Manual.

BTW, there is no Wh/Grn wire, it's white or white/black.

What year and how many wires are in that plug??
I have an 04, only 2 plugs, and there's no wht/grn in the manual

EDIT: 06 came with iPod and Aux, it's probably for one of those. Check the wiring manual for 06.

EDIT2: got bored and looked it up, wht/grn is for the illumination level, it's not listed with the Audio, I had to lok at the whole car wiring.
