Professional sound deadening estimate?
Being that I don't know alot about cars, I'm not too confident about sound deadening my box myself. Has any had it done professionally, if so how much did you have done and how much did it cost? I was thinking about just starting w/ the back since alot of ppl on the forums have said that gets alot of it. Thanks
Regardless of whether you obtain and supply your own deadening material to the shop, or if you buy it there, they're going to charge by the hour for labor. Considering the relative simplicity of what they're doing [laying down deadening, versus, say, building a custom sub box and amp rack], you may not be able to justify the cost to yourself.
Also keep in mind that the shop may be less inclined to give you a discount on the labor if they're not selling you the deadening material - that's where they make their margins.
Many of us have deadened at least part of our cars, and I think you may find it easier than you anticipate. Most of the interior plastic parts come off easily with your hands and a minimum of tools, which you might already own. There's plenty of guides right here on scionlife.com

id save money and do it urself. xb's come apart so easily. on the other hand im getting a new camaro and am having it professionally done. The difference is that they will make sure everything is sealed, theyll use dynamat, foam, etc whatever it takes. Its a matter of how much u want to spend. professionally sill run u at least 500 or more
