Default Puke smell remedy

Incase anyone searches for this (as I did with eleventy billion different answers from people who had never actually tried their remedy) - If your sisters 6yr old happens to projective vomit in your car, use prestone interior cleaner to get the smell out.

http://www.midwayautosupply.com/pc-1...oz-as-345.aspx

It was the story from hell... my sister calls me and says she's been in a wreck. 'Are you OK?', I ask. 'I'm in the hospital', she says. I haul ___ (60 miles from work to her) to go help her however I can - it turns out she's mostly OK... tore a ligament in her ankle, air bag rash, and seatbelt cuts.

When I show up to the emergency room, her and her boyfriend (a short, fat, snort-laughing hitler who I'd never met) were sitting there waiting for me to pick them up. My sister & her boyfriend are both about the same build (way too many bigmacs in their lives), so you can sort of imagine how much room there was in the back seat of my xb when we picked up her 6yr old kid.

We left the baby-sitters & headed for the pharmacy to fill her prescription. I would've never guessed that a town of 100,000+ would only have a grocery store & a walmart available to get drugs (they gave her some good stuff - vicodin ). 3:30 in the afternoon & they say it'll be 11:30 the next morning before she can get her script.... off to the next town we go - with about 500lbs in my back seat (sister, kid, hitler).

We reach walgreens in the next town over & start answering medical history questions in the drivethrough. The lovely pharmacist says it'll be 15 minutes. Meanwhile (while we're sitting in the drivethru), the kid says 'I'm hoooo oooooooto', so I turn up the AC... 'I'm HOOO OOOOOO OOOOOT', so I roll down the windows. 'I don't feel good... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... BARF'

That kid must've puked 10 times in my back seat.... made it all the way to my seat. I handed my sister a handfull of napkins which she used the next time he puked to cover his mouth with... not a good idea - it's gotta go somewhere. Now Hitler & my sister are completely covered in vomit.

For the next 4 hours, I sat in the vomit comet, stopping at every carwash I could find throwing money into the shampoo machine until I could get home & do something about this mess.

Over the next week, I tried everything I could to get that vile smell out of my car. Charcoal, coffee, steam cleaner, ozone spray, oust, fabreeze... you name it, it didn't work... not even a little bit. My car smelled like a toilet someone had puked in & sprayed air freshener in to cover the smell.

I was ready to get rid of the car... on my way home from work last friday, I stopped at an autozone & bought the miracle product - Prestone Interior Cleaner (with enzymes). I removed the rear seat (bottom only), sprayed down the seatbelts, the carpet, and my seat-back, then went to work on the back seat... After cleaning everything, the smell was gone. I figured the true test would be to see how the car smelled after sitting in the hot texas sun... the smell is gone!!!

So, to make an overly long story short, Prestone (yes, the antifreze people) Interior Cleaner... buy it - it works.

Great info. A few years ago a friend of mine's girlfriend puked in his vents one night after drinking a bottle of crown. Needless to say we hated turning on those vents. It was gross.

That'd be the end of an xB for me... I was ready to get rid of it after riding with that wretched smell for a week. Puke in the vents would be the final straw for my xB.

To make my bad month worse, I hit a HUGE rock today...

Exactly how I found the place I dropped it off at today... $125 + $10 to dismount/mount & balance the tire. 24hr turnaround & a complete guarantee. Kinda high, but I don't have to order another one (slightly more expensive), or wait for it to ship.
