pull down LID for DOUBLE DIN
What about a conversion? Meaning taking the lid from a Tc, and modding it to fit the double din opening in the Xb. I found the Tc heater/AC controls on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true
Havent really measured the opening in an Xb. Anyway I have to replace the bezel on my Xb b/c it was damaged when some @$$ tried to take my stock stereo, I might consider attempting a conversion, if anyone has measurements for the openings on a Tc.

You guys might already know of this, but if you have a store that sells stuff for model trains they normally sell sheets of black plastic, that you can cut into different shapes.
Seems like it would be handy for making something like this.

Suoer autobacs also sells ABS plastic for 4.99 a sheet I believe. they're around 10"x10" if I remember right. As soon as finals are over, I'l be working on a top track design. The door should pull flat straight out of the dash, lock in a groove, and be able to close down covering the radio. I think the biggest problem is shaping something that'll match the design/flow of the dash lines. Hopefully everyone can collaborate, and come up with something good for this idea

all these ideas and no one has tried to make one??? well i have an idea im going to take the stock face off of my old stock six disc, make a template of the face.. and i'll even do a DIY write up... just give me sometime to work this all out.... i have a winter break from school coming up so i know i will have time to give it a shot. heres a hint im going to use foam, aluminum foil and stiffen stuff to make the foam template hard... and then a spray plastic.. and paint... my reading the previous post if there was a way to make it fold up i.e. push up then rest on the dash i think it would work...
