push button start?

I recommend pivot for the switch, you have to contact them, and then they will contact a dealer, in japan, and then you have to paypal the dealer, but the switches look excellent. The one i am purchasing has a code system, you have to press it a certain number of times, and then you may have to repeat that sequence a number of times before you can start it, you can turn that feature off though.
I already have the switch....
I dont do DIYs. Too much time and effort that I dont have and Im not willing to spend. After I do things I just field questions about it either in threads or through PM. Sorry....

I might get to start figuring out the wiring harness on Thursday. I'll be in my shop all day but I have other priorities that day... test fit new body kit, start fiberglassing custom gauge pod, cover the dash and pillars in suede. Busy day.
The easiest way to do this safely would be to use the trigger wire on a remote start unit. You will still have to use the key to go anywhere, but you could start it with a push button. It would give you the same safety features as a remote start.
ok, i saw this old thread was being posted in again and i have to chime in. I still have everything i need to get the push button start to work. this whole thing is hung up on one very robust steering wheel lock. If anyone can tell me how to get that darn thing off without just cutting / grinding it off then you will have someone who will make a whole diy on how to install a push button start. i plan to leave the key lock there and unused to give any would be thief something to mess with and slow him down, so all i really need to do is remove that darn wheel lock. its been a while since i looked at it but i suspect it can be removed or disabled.
Basically this is what i want / have:
alarm / ignition disable for security (already installed)
easy to start and stop car, flip one switch and push one button to start, flip one switch to turn off.
easy to reach switch location while still being out of sight
able to be returned to stock, minus steeringwheel lock if necessary
guess thats about it.
you can see a little more about my ideas in my previous posts

ok, i did a little work today on my car and found a few interesting things out. first off i can remove the whole key cylinder and the ignition switch pretty easily. And to top things off i think i have a way to disable the steering wheel lock, and i can still have the key cylinder installed so everything looks totally stock. pretty much today i found out it can be done. now all i need is to figure out which wires go where and make the panel to mount everything on, hopefully ill have this done in the next month or so. Things like this always take me too long cuz i have no place to work on my car and i work ( at my job) way too much. I'm excited, i think im gonna make this happen.
