yep i did that same thing a few weeks ago. i painted the thim of the radion, wat silver, i changed it to a nice gloss black




since thease pics ive painter the oven door and everything bellow is a nice gloss black and the knockouts white.

 

Where did u guys find the 08 radio and for how much? Is the standard 08 radio better the the standard from 1st gen? Is it worth the buy if cant find the premium one? Any feed back would be great.

 

im not sure about the stock 08, but the premium 08 is definetaly better.
i got mine off another SL member that had just done an aftermarket HU.
the dealer sells them for somewere around $600.
just keep your eyes open and look at 2nd gen threads for anyone that might have one, you should be able to pick one up for around 2 bills.
you could just start a thread about looking for one.

i want this for my tC as long as the ipod connector works to control it from the HU....

 

Are the RCA jacks labeled? (Front, Rear, Bass)

 

yes, rca cables are labeled, you also can control sub volume and phase from the head unit

 

to change the color: turn the HU off, then hold down the menue button somewere in the option that come up will let you change from orenge to blue also set the car to xD it sounds the best for the 1st gen xB speeker set up.

 

all of the conections on the back of the HUs are the same

the one that is circled is flipped around but is still the same

and the rca jacks are labelled" F, R, S = front, rear, sub. you can barly see the "R"
in the middel of the center set. perfect, what more could you ask for. this is alot of the reason i wanter this HU.

 

Anyone confirm that this is plug n play with 2005 XB? Just wanna make sure before I get my hopes up, and start searching for one.

Just keep an eye out, I've been checking constantly for the past few weeks on eBay and the one I got was only up for about an hour.

god i want one of these, but i cant afford it. there is one on ebay now but doesnt have a BIN. check it out.

 

Does this H/U require an Anti-theft code to unlock? Or is it really just Plug and Play?
