If anyone can find those pics so I can get them re-hosted, I'll fix that post so the pics are back.

Other than that, we appear to be stuck with words only...

I tried the resistor "fix" in a 2008 Pioneer Base Model, 1st Gen, and it FIXED the Aux. Im not sure about the ipod cable, but the Aux definitely works with the resistor. It cost me 0.99 at radio shack. talk about the power of a dollar!

Bumping this:

Ok, I have an '05 xB with the standard h/u. If I buy an '08 tC standard h/u, what would I need to be able to hook my ipod to it? I couldnt find this answer int the thread.

Hmm, but I just want the standard h/u, not the ungraded one. I mainly want a stock h/u but with the ipod hookup. I dont need to attract thieves.

Ok so I got a real hook up off craigslist for an 08 premium , so I switched my 05 to it,

But I never had the IPOD hook up ... so my question is

What cable(s) do I need to make my IPOD work with this radio ..

Thanks

Scott

The auxiliary inputs usually require you have something connected to it before you will be able to select aux/ipod mode on your stereo. Even if a jack is plugged in, if it is not receiving a signal from a device else, it will skip the aux/ipod mode.

Sigh well i failed for now, i used this site as a reference also.

http://www.modifiedlife.com/car-ster...2006-scion-xa/

@swartzautoman
I also tried your DIY and plugged into 4th and 9th pin. The colors are totally different XB vs XA. But using the site all the wires should be the same. After i installed the resistant the AUX worked when i pressed the button, tried my ipod from the 3.5mm there's no sound being displayed =/. I'm not a pro when it comes to wiring so if anyone can help i appreciate it, other than that i'll just take this as an assignment to do over the weekend.

Nevermind, it worked perfectly. Using the resistor and plugging it in the 14 and 19 hole will give the option to use AUX. have not installed the ipod cable yet still waiting for that to be shipped.

just finished browsing ebay motors for scion radios. i found a 05-09 tc steering wheel with cruise and radio controls. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-09...item5ad671c23a. just search parts/accs>scion>radio and its about $45. i had cruise installed on my manual xB at the dealer and im thinkin thisll work with the factory tc radio. just dont blow your head off disconnecting the airbag!!!!! im also not sure if the cruise buttons disconnect at the box under the hood or from the "lever" within the steering column... hmmm. that might leave you with having to refit the grommet on the firewall.
