Default python security system question

hello...looking at a security system for my new xb...thinking about the python one at circut city

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pytho...oductDetail.do

200 bucks installed....good features, in my price range...

one question..it says for automatic transmission only at CC.....is that just because its CC or is it something to do with the alarm? (I dont know much about security)

thanks

That seems like a basic alarm to me. The Fuel injection & auto transmission is for remote start only. The installation on this is pretty basic, thats why its free.

i work at cc and i can tell you about this. the installation isn't free. if you look it says installations is included. if you want to get the alarm alone its 100 and its 100 for the install. you can install that in either auto or stick. either way its a pretty decent alarm for what your getting.

he Blimon63, can you buy the alarm without installation or does DEI still require CC to sell the alarms Installed Only? I know when I worked at CC it was part of the contract with DEI to sell Installed Only.

you can buy them, but you get no warranty at all. The alarm only effects the systems its attached to like the lights, locks and starter, but as long as its installed right there shouldnt be any problems

I think you are talking about a warranty from the alarm...I was refering to the facory warranty from scion...

but from what ive read, it apprears that only if something malfunctioned that was deemed to be the cause of installed aftermarket componnents would the warranty be void.

I think that is right...

Thanks

Bill says right on the box ... Must be installed by an authorized Directed Dealer Only for Lifetime warrenty.

As far as voiding Warrenty, it is called the Moss Act. Says they can not void a warrenty based on the addition of aftermarket parts unless it is proven that those parts caused the failure of the failed part in question.

Oh and a 460HP is just an alarm/Keyless. Python=Viper=Clifford.

also, does the scion come factory with a keyless? or is that only if you install an aftermarket keyless entry?

Thanks for all the info. :D

yup you guys are all right, you can purchase the unit by itself but you lose all the warranty from the manufacture. if it is installed professionally then your fine. all in all its not a bad price for what you are getting.
