Is it integral to the radio, or is it external somewhere?

if you're talking about the bazooka sub, it's in the tube.... otherwise all you have is your HU..

Posted when brain not working. HU is what I'm after or amp with the HU. Don't have the sub.

The "amp" is built into the head unit. It's light, like 15 watts. But there's not a seperate piece. Only possible seperate component would be the factory XM receiver if so equipped.
