Default Question about Dealer option installation

I'm taking me new baby ('06 xA) back to the dealer to get the iPod stereo, fog lights, and blue int. lighting installed (i know i know, i shouldn't have paid the $$$ for the dealer to do it... )

My question is, how do they wire up the interior lighting? Is it on a separate switch? Does it dim? Or is it simply wired into the parking-lights? Where do they install the controls? Can I specify where?

Also, where does the "business" end of the iPod dock cable emerge? How long? Can I specify a location for this as well?

What about the fog light controls?
I would ideally like to have them operate on an independent switch, but still power off w/ the car. Is this possible?

I’ll be telling the service department guy all of this when I take it in on Monday, but I thought I’d try to get some details from the community before I walk in…

Thanks for any input.

And again… I’ve already paid the dealer for all this stuff, so I would appreciate a minimum of “you should have…”

lets see... under the little cubby in the dash you'll see 2 knock out plates.... i think the 06 puts the passenger belt light indicater inbetween themm... thast where your fog and interior light switches will go... 2 seperate switches...

i believe the ipod jack shows up near a knock out by ebrake

Dealer Install? The fog lights on my xB were plug and play. I assume that that they are the same on the xA. I bought my fogs on E-Bay for $180 and they are factory OEM... About half price! It took me 1/2 hour to install them. The dealers make too much money! I also installed a Pioneer Ipod radio that I bought here on scionlife classifieds for $100. All wiring was in my xB making it plug and play. So, lets see, that's about a $350 or $400 savings! If you tell your dealer that you have decided not to get those obtions they will issue you a refund check. Just a suggertion. Have fun!
