So did you notice any type of improvements after installing the ground wire kit, O5Toaster-xb? Just wondering if it is worth it? About how many feet of speaker wires is it, do you recall?

xBlong, yes i did feel some improvement but the jury is still out on wether it's worth it.......but hey it looks cool !! Ah about 7 feet of wire in the diy article was stated i believe.

I liked the kit because it's already crimped with a crimper not with a hammer as some have said.....and the main lug has all the hardware. it was about 18 bucks total with shipping ........what the hey !!

Oh, so you bought one of those kits on ebay? Any specific kit? Thanks for all the responses.

xBLong, Yes ebay kit was the Trust with the GREDDY Badge with it. The cost was like 99 cents but shipping is like 18 bucks or so.......it's a joke sort of but hey the parts are probably worth it alone i figure. The crimps are all good, the wire seems decent. Some laugh at buying that stuff on ebay but i guess i got my moneys worth. I thnk the guys who are selling it are X3racing ......Good Luck !

Here is the link on ebay for the one i purchased.

Roseeaf,

Go to the tech section at the top of the post and the instruction are right there. I bought the same kit as 05 toaster but was unhappy with the wire and ring terminals, very loose. I am going to do 4 gauge instead of 8. 05 toaster did a really neat job.

well I finished my install of my grounding kit, its 7' of 4gauge wire.

I had a difficult time gettin those huge ring connectors to go on the coil bolt. but finally got it, the only part that concerns me is the actual connection to the battery, I have a really cheap battery connector stock... it has flanges on both sides, and the ring connector is wider than those flanges, so it doesnr sit snug inside the gap between the flanges, although there was a smally shim of shorts beneath the bolt, to even with the flanges...I think it just fall short a bit, anyhow I put the ring connectors on...is the edge of the flanges, and the screw/bolt enough of a connection to the negative connection?

there is not much of a noticeable difference after I drove it around, there was one difference tho, I used to roll up my windows and the engine and lights would bog down a tiny, that is now gone. But at random points my idle still goes down to about 500rpm at random then goes back up to 650rpm or so which is the norm. I think that turning on and off the AC smoothness has improved. When the AC is on tho, its still a little rougher idle then when its not =(
So, I think the kit is helping in some areas and is doing its job.

Is my negative connection set up how I have now, gonna be ok? anyone recommend a way of doing it if need be? thanks

Question for 05-ToasterxB: How does the metal circle attach to the negaive pole of your battery. Did you pull the negative cable off of the battery and attach the circle? Where ddid you re-attach the negaive cable from the battery to?? I zoomed in on your one picture but couldn't tell. Thnaks.

Don't cut anything! Take the negative cable and put it between the two plates, the round part will fit on the pole that the bolt goes through, PM him and he will send pics.

Default Ground wire kit

I bought the kit like toaster did off of ebay. Didn't come with instructions, Toyota dealer won't touch it without them! Can anyone help with any instrucions for an installation on a tC? I would appreciate it very much.
