Default Question Regarding HID bulbs and Ballasts.....

Just wanted to know if anyone could help me, kinda of an idiot with this whole HID fad.

I bought a set of 6000K McCulloch's and got them installed. They look beautiful by the way. But anyway, can someone tell me if Iwanted to move down in K's like to 5000 or 4300, can I do that safely with the ballasts I already have???? Also if I decide to go with a projector retro fit (which is a future project that I am very excited about) can I change to a D2S bulb to fit the projectors with my current McCulluch 6000K balasts?????

If someone can educate me on this subject, I would deeply appreciate it.

Thanx,

Adriano~

you can move down in temp from 6K to 5K with the same ballasts. But you can't use that same "Plug n Play" ballast to use with a D2S Bulb you have to get those ballasts.

actually, you can use the same plug and play ballasts, but doing so is not recommended. for one thing they are of inferior quality compared to OEM ballasts. but you can cut off the stupid dongle connectors plugs and splice the P32D sockets onto the end. but considering the high voltage going to the bulb, its a very stupid idea to do something like this.

when you decided to do a projector retrofit, its best to sell your kit and then buy OEM parts because you'll have to buy the projectors, new bulbs (your rebased 9006 bulbs won't fit) and new ballasts.
