Radio Text Question
Hi Everybody,
I searched first and either didn't find my answer or I missed it. If I missed it....sorry!
I have misplaced my book for the basic '06 xB radio. How do I change the text that shows at start-up on the radio? Thanks in advance for the help!

Moving to Customize Mode
1. With the main unit on, turn the key from ACC position to the off position.
2. On the main unit, press and hold MUTE button then turn key to ACC. The horizontal line display will start flashing.
3. Within 15 sec. after confirming the horizontal line is flashing, press and hold the PRESET1 button then turn the key to the off position. (If 15 sec. after confirming elapses before you complete the button presses, "TIMEOUT" will be displayed and the unit will beep twice. If this occurs repeat step 1).
This completes shiftng to customize mode.
EDITING the TEXT
1.Press the Preset 3 or 4 buttons to change the flashing letter by displaying other letters one by one. The letters will change continously if you press and hold Preset 3 or 4.
2. With the character that you want to select displayed press Preset6 to select it. After selecting the character, the cursor moves to the right so you can edit the next character. After you select the 16th character, the entire line starts flashing. To delete a selected character, press Preset 5 button. After you delete a character the cursor shifts left so you can edit the previous character. If you delete all of the text, you can edit from the first character.
3. After you are finished selecting the text for the line, press and hold Preset 6 button. The selected text string is registered as the welcome screen. The customized mode ends and the text string is displayed for 6 sec.
New Message Display
The next time the ACC is switched on, the text edited by th user will be displayed.
Straight from the owners manual, hope this helps you.

Thanks alot!!!
That is exactly what I was looking for. I have no idea where my book went, but with a curious 6 year old, I have a few ideas. It's probably buried in the back yard with a stick, rock and that cell phone that I lost last year
.
Thanks again,
Dave

They didn't include a radio manual for my 2006 when I bought it. I went to Scion.com and dug until I found a live online "chat with an operator" type thing and told them. They sent one out and I got it in the mail a few days later. You might give that a shot.
