This is a bit of a noobish question, but I want to save some money. I plan on mounting my amp underneath the driver's seat. How long of an RCA cable would I need to get there? I don't want to waste money (and neatness) by getting a cable that's too long. Is 6 feet enough?

You might be better off getting something longer... I can't say I've measured it, but it's not really a straight shot. Grab a 12 footer... that way you know you'll make it. The excess can be coiled up pretty neatly.

 

Or, mock it up with string first to see what length you need.

 

Good thinking... I may have to try that. I'll tear up my car on Tuesday. I don't yet have my sub but I find it's easiest to work in sections on different days than to rush something and screw it up because it's getting dark. I may not finish for a month with how busy I am tho

 

You will need more than 6 feet. You can always hide extra cable which is easier/neater than splicing RCA cables.

 

Last night I found an 8' cable that I used in my tC that I measured from the stereo to the passenger seat. It may work. If not, I'll go buy a 12' cable. My 8' cable is actually one that I made from an ethernet cable and slapped on some RCA tips. It should be enough length but we'll see tomorrow. Thanks for the help everyone
