Default Rear Speaker Installation/Materials..

I have posted this before, and have seen others posted it, but now im serious about getting new 5/14 rear speakers. The infinity 5/14 reference to be exact. I can get them for about 30 bucks new. Do I need custom brackets, a wiring harness for each speaker? I need to know this. I would like to hear from someone who has actually done so.

You will need a bracket and a speaker wiring harness. If this is a tC your talking about, yes I have personally done it. made MDF 1/4" plates for the speaker and bought wiring harnesses. Not sure if they make speaker brackets for the rear, but they might.

the holes for the rear speakers are oval shaped 4 - 4.5 inches...

you will need a spacer or adapter (you can fit up to a 1 inch spacer) to make the speaker flush with the interior panel.

you can just tap off of the factory speaker wires for positive and negative wires...(the new speakers should have wires with them) make sure you get the polarity right or it could sound like crap....

you don't need to be a craftsman to do this...
you cant mess it up...nobody will ever see it....

these are t-taps
http://www.crowbarelectricalparts.com/Scotchloks.htm
(at bottom of page)
if you're that unsure of your self then go to a stero shop and ask them to make you a spacer (bring the speakers)
and get the t-taps and supplies from them....
they might even take pity on you and prep everything....
