recommended 600watt sub
what do you guys recommend for a 600watt sub? my amp can push 300watts x 2 at 2 ohms or 600watts bridged so Im looking to upgrade my 300watt pioneer sub. The rockford fosgate t112d4 looks like a perfect sub, any comments on it?

also, what's SQ and SPL? from what i read on here, SPL is targeted more toward competition and SQ is used for quality audio output.

SQ and SPL are 2 different types of competition.....
SQ is Sound Quality competition
SPL is Sound Pressure Level competition.....
SQ is for judging accuracy in reproduction of music/recordings...
SPL is how loud your subs are.....
if your amp can handle a 2ohm bridged load, then yes, you've selected the correct sub..... if it can only handle a 4ohm bridged load, then you'll need a dual 2ohm sub instead of the dual 4ohm in the link above....

strict SQ probably isn't going to be 600w.....or 12"......
in SQ, you barely even hear the sub.....all it does is low frequency that the front stage can't achieve......Ideally, you'd mount the small subs in the front of the vehicle.....unless you're going to be competing, this Fosgate sub will work just fine for ya....

Being a car audio fanatic for about a year now, I would have to say right now that the the 12" RL-P from Soundsplinter.com is a top notch SQL driver delivering top notch SQ and SPL. 600 Watts would be perfect for it in the correct enclosure. You installation is actually more important than your sub.

make sure all wires are connected securely and properly, make sure all wires are free from being pinched or torn into..... make sure the enclosure you use is within the subwoofer specifications.... that kind of thing...
