Default Relay-Based Security

Anybody ever heard of these new relay-based passive security systems? Supposedly you replace the factory starter relay with a fake that looks like the factory relay only it's really a starter interrupt with an RFID transponder.

Do these WORK??

I mean, it seems that if a thief figured out that an interrupt was being used (it would stand to reason if there were no other visible reasons why the car won't start, since these relay systems don't have any sort of LED), it could be easily defeated by simply popping the hood and wiring around the relay or replacing the faked out starter/security relay with a factory starter relay to start the car.

I hear these are growing in popularity among dealers in California. If so, it seems like it might work okay of it could be coupled with a way to lock the hood from the secondary hood latch just under the front center of the hood (even after popping the hood from inside).

Do such hood locks exist?

thanks

Never heard of this. As far as hood locks yes they have them. I am thinking about getting one for my XB.

Default Silent Video Surveillance System

Well, here is your answer for your question... solution.

1. 12VDC - 960 hour video recorder programable for periodic recording with input to go to real-time recording if triggered by alarm or radar sensor. With date and time stamped on video tape.

2. Microwave radar movement sensor to trigger recording system.

3. Night vision wide angle single CCD camera.

4. 4 Watt, 3 channel pager can work with up to 3 zones. Can tell you if the movement sensor was triggered, when door is opened or when alarm is triggered.

NOTE: This system is "SILENT" since due to laws and regulations, you can not record the activity without the intruders consent!

Look to pay approximately $875.00 for such setup like this and this is not including installation.

Happy Hunting Thieves!
