Default Remote engine starter

I am looking for a remote engine starter for my xb 06 (automatic transmission). What is the best product? Is it difficult to install myself?

The best ones would be the ones made by DEI most popular is Viper ones/ And yes u can bypass the clutch on a standard but u have to use to magnetic switchs on the shifter so it doesnt start in gear.

Default Remote start for my gen 1 xB

I am also toying with a remote start in my xB.
Question is there any way to cue a remote start off the current keyless enty? I would be willing to give up the panic mode for a remote start. Any of you out there tackled this yet?

I ve tried using the factory keyless to activate remote start and it doesnt work the keyless entry doesnt send out a strong enough pulse to turn the remote start module on.

madmaxbb, thanks for the info. I am looking at Viper 160XV Remote Start. Do you think it would be a good choice? The best pricing I've found so far is $199.99 from Vivid Racing:

Do you know any other better deal?

What is a factory bypass? Some of the web sites mention that remote starters may require a factory bypass. I am totally new to remote starters. Forgive me if I'm asking obvious questions.

you can btpass the clutch using a relay. its ground,12v,one clutch wire, other clutch wire. i did it myself. didnt use a magnetic switch though. just got to double check its in neutral.

Just a FYI u dont need to use a relay to do the clutch bypass u just hook the starter wire coming off the remote start to the wire that comes off the clutch switch thats it . There is no bypass parts needed for Xbs or Xa. Dane thats a good alarm made by Dei same company that makes Viper alarms. Dane if u need someone to hook up ur alarm let me know i work at a stereo shop ..

That's a good unit. I've got the Viper SST (same thing) and I love it.

I'm really liking the look of that Clifford remote though. Thinking of picking one up to have that sweet CF look.

Go for top of the line - Viper 7900. First model from Viper that's color screen w/ remote start. You won't be disappointed. I bought it the first day it came out, which cost me $350 from online. Just be sure to use plastic wrap on the remote since there's no case protector yet..lol. I was kinda disappointed in that.
