Default Remote Start Installation

I installed my alarm and having trouble with the remote start.. I cant seem to find the starter wire. I know it has to be 12 volts on cranking, but I tested all wires in the ignition harness and cant find it.. the Scion color code list shows IGNITION (BLACK) and STARTER (BLACK) there are 3 or 4 black wires and tested all of them.I am getting so frustrated..

Has anyone installed a remote start successfully? I am thinking the scion has a different type of starting mechanism.

In the past I have installed remote start in other of my cars with no problems, just the scion is giving me problems..

Well i got all other remote wires wired correctly but the ignition black wire and the starter black wire.. is there a way to tell them apart? I probed both and they are both 12 volts with ignition "ON" and cranking.. In the past with my other cars it was easier because the starter wire is a big gauge and 12v only on cranking.. I guess that is why i am getting confused..

BTW how can i call u?? your number is not on your profile

The wire that goes under your engine cover is most likely for the tach input on the remote starter not the starter wire he is asking about.
