Default remote start probs - plz help!

Hey guys. When i use my remote start it takes the starter a good 4-5 seconds of making that cranking sound before it s able to start. I'm afraid this is bad for the starter. Is it? I have a compustar 2w-ss installed on my 5-speed tc by the way.

And i got it installed when i was in chicago which is 2.5 hours away, so if anyone can offer a do it yourself solution thatd be great. thanks!

How long does it take to normally crank your car?

i had the same problem....the sensor that is used to send the signal to the car that the key is in the ignition....isn't close enough...its hard to explain...not a big deal though....i would just take it back to who ever put it in and let them know...they can fix it.

Normally takes 1-2 secs max to crank.

And would i just need to move the sensor closer then? Is that the solution?

thats what i had to do....mine would crank for what seemed like forever and then it would stop and try again.....

Moved the sensor closer....works like a charm now....except when it starts and then tries to drive off.....
