Default Removing the Steering Wheel Emblem?

I've noticed that a lot of people replace the the outside Scion emblems of their cars with a bB badge or some thing else.
But, has anyone actually removed or replaced the emblem on the steering wheel with anything?

I don't want to change out the entire wheel so I hope there is some thing else I can do to get rid of the Scion logo

I'm interested also. Just with a tC steering wheel.

Some people have put a TRD badge over the emblem. You can replace it with a Toyota badge as well.

Other than that, you'd probably have to replace the wheel.

The Scion emblem on the steering wheel is held in place by plastic "legs" that are anchored on the back side of the steering wheel cover.
You have to cut these "legs" off to remove the emblem, then anything else you put on will have to be glued into place.

I wouldn't play around that area. The factory emblem is right where the airbag will explode into your face (in an accident). I'm sure Toyota engineers made sure that the emblem is atttached in such a way that it'll stay with the steering wheel at the deployment.

If you replace it with something else, there is a good chance that it might end up as a projectile hitting your face if the airbag deploys.

I would just leave it alone.

If people at willing to replace their steering wheel with one that doesn't have a airbag...lol....nuff said.

I want to replace my Scion emblem with a Toyota, and can't help but wonder. Will the Echo steering wheel fit the xB???

Just replace the wheel altogether. I'm totally anti-airbag.
But I agree on NOT modifying the standard wheel. When airbags first came out I remember people modifying them to put radio remotes in there. I still wonder how many people got in accidents and had an Alpine emblem tattooed on their forehead.

Whatever anti-airbag sentiments you have, probably based on the potential for injury, if a car is produced with an airbag, you disable it, and are injured in a wreck, good luck with insurance.

I haven't removed mine, and I totally agree with you on the insurance thing, but I also wouldn't suggest modifying the original, even if it is just changing out an emblem. I'd rather not have an airbag at all than have the potential for even more debris flying at my head.
My anti-airbag sentiment is based on the fact that I don't really like to have explosives defined as safety equipment for me. I have two small children and it makes me sick to think of the damage they could do to a small child, and yet manufacturers are putting them anywhere and everywhere they can. I don't understand how I'm warned about putting my child in the front seat because of possible death from an airbag, but then they can put a side curtain bag right next to their head. ??? Sorry for wandering off topic.

I removed mine by "popping" the Scion emblem out.

I used a soft TRD badge and slapped it over where the Scion emblem would have been.
