Default replace 2004 xA factory stereo with newer one with aux?

I love the hell out of my 2004 xA but HATE that the stereo doesn't have an aux input. I would like to use an aux input for my ipod AND for a dock-and-play satellite radio and don't mind switching cords depending on which of those I am listening to. What I'd really like to do, if possible, is buy a used factory stereo from another scion that has an aux input. But I see that the scion factory stereos with aux capability have an extra port that mine does not have, so I fear that I will not be able to replace mine with one of those...

I guess I'm open to buying an aftermarket system if that's the only way, but I don't really want to. I would rather buy a peripheral unit I can use with my current stereo if I can't replace mine with another factory model, but I can't seem to find much in that department. I don't mind doing a fairly simple install myself - I have done one before.

So if someone could help me figure out my options here I would be very appreciative! And I'm sorry if this has been covered - I did search but didn't find any info specific to this question.

Thanks so much,
Angela

There is an adapter made by USASPEC model PA15-Toy, it'll allow you to connect your Ipod and/or SAT tuner.

Check out this link:

I recently installed the PIE TOY03-Aux/S adapter - it's activated by pressing the AM/SAT button on the stereo. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/toy03auxs.html
I like it just fine, and it works great, but if you want a more integrated solution you're probably best off just getting a new headunit.

If you decide to go with an aftermarket radio, check out Crutchfield (dot com). They might seem more expensive, but with the kits and adapters they often supply it can be well worth it. Yes, you might have to do some simple soldering for a new wire harness, but they do make it as simple as possible. And they are glad to help on the phone if you run into problems. You can check them out via resellerratings (dot com).

I purchased a HD /CD radio w/aux from them and have been extremely pleased.
