Replacing Sub in Bazooka
Hi guys I searched this and couldnt seem to find an answer I have the bazooka EL-8a from bazooka in my box and know it is possible to add another sub inspite of the bazooka one that is in the enclosure. My question is what could i put in there and what mods would i need to do it,would I be able to use the amp thats in there or add one and would it stil be able to be hooked up the way it is?
Thanks for all replies.

Im sorry why would you, you would have to worry about enough power, air space, and mounting in to the tube. Dont do it, get a real sub and box with a amp that matches the subs rms power. You will spend less time doing that, then trying to figure out how to replace the sub in the tube. Beleive me you will do yourself a favor doing this.

It's afair question. Keep the factory look but get better sound. Kinda sleeperish, in a sound kind of way.
Try removing the sub and match it up with a better one that's the same size. Then hide a better amp somewhere outta sight. Let us know how it went.

I think the "sleeper" thing is good too. The sub upgrade should work. Just make sure the ratings are close on the new one. I also saw there is a bazooka speaker upgrade kit at www.trdsparks.com (if the factory look is what you want to keep.) Stereo overkill definitely isn't for everyone. Good Luck!
If I'm not mistaken, the bazooka tube is ported which means it's been made specificly to the thiele/small parameters of the bazooka sub... no other sub is going to match that like the bazooka sub it comes with.... I'd suggest getting rid of the tube and getting a real amp and enclosure/sub... it may be a little more $$ but you'll be way better off this route...
come to think of it, why not replace the rear speakers with 2 Eu-700's with baffles?? worth a try... here's the Eu's:
