Default Rockford Punch P152S in an 06' xB door? System design help?

Ok, I searched everywhere for the answer to my questions before posting a new topic. But, alas, no luck.

I have always loved Rockford Fosgate products and want to upgrade my stock speakers. I found some I like, RF Punch 152S:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCP152S

But these are 5.25" I read on another post that the stock doors are 6.50"? I wouldn't want to downsize my speakers if I have the room in the door.

In the rear I was thinking about these, RF Power T142C:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCT142C

I have a 12" Punch XLC in a box already that I would like to push with a Punch 150a2 amp. I then would like to use my Punch 100a2 amp to push the other speakers.

I know you guys are the experts in xB speaker systems, so what do you think? I need to keep this fairly economical and all RF stuff. I laready have the sub and 2 amps.

Thanks for your honest opinions.....Jason

"Bottom mount depth n/a". Great.

As a comparative starting point, I have eDi6000 mids-depth 2.8"- fits with two thicknesses of 3/4" mdf spacers. Leaves 1/4"~3/8" clear to glass. Stock are 6-1/2" but 5-1/4" will fit fine.

If you go mdf spacers, I can send you the paper templates.

Thanks Tanakasan......I checked out your thread and your toaster, nice work. How does it sound? Awesome, I bet.

Do you think I should go with 6.5s in the door then? Larger, louder, and more powerful is always better, no?

As far as the spacer issue, could you explain that to me? Don't the speakers mount directly to the door?

Thanks for your help!

*asks me what I think...*

Go eDi 6500s! Save some cash and have an awesome front stage. 100 x 2 is perfect! I personally would not have rear fill, IMHO.

Check my install, see the round/triangle rings? Those are the spacers. They are flat black in the installed pics. You will need them for clearance to the window glass in the down position.

What website can I go to, to check out these eDi 6500s?

So, if I don't have spacers my windows won't go all the way down?

I won't be doing this install myself, (I don't have all the cool tools you have or your knowledge), so wouldn't a car stereo place have these spacers already?

Go visit the forums and search there. Lots of info and reviews. Also, go see the product pages.

My 6000s scream. They are a great value w/great sound. From what everyone says, the 6500s are a world better. I regret not doing the 6500s, as I wonder now how much better they are.

The mids will hit the glass (or vice versa) and crack the glass. Your window will go all the way down...once!

I can send you paper templates for the spacers. Super EZ to make, $5 in material. Or maybe Elemental can do it for you. Great guys, give them a call.

I appreciate the offer for the spacers. I'm gonna have to do more research and decide what mids I'm going to use. Thanks for your help.
