If your going to install one to the deck I would think you will need to either fiberglass or find another way to mount the monitor somewhere.

Im not familiar with the 3.0 bare i mind.

I have RS 3.0 #614 and I wanted to do the same thing.

The only options that I could see so far if I wanted to keep the stock deck is to get a rear view mirror w/ LCD monitor built in, a passenger side sun visor mounted LCD or to somehow get a 1/2 DIN pop out LCD screen and mount it in the cubby hole.

Otherwise, I think I will need to change the deck.

Monitors are cheap these days. The only real cost is the custom installation.

The visors would be the best spot. Or you could do a flip out monitor in the pocket under the AC controls. More expensive but also more stealth, and less visible by cops. (who WILL ticket you for watching Nemo while you drive, btw.)

Here are a few, but you can have most stand alone monitors custom mounted into a visor. You could also look at a monitor in the rearview, those are nice IMO.

Has anyone on the forum actually integrated into the video signal going to the headrest monitors? I dont know much about the RS3's but w/ many factory monitors, you cant add screens to the existing units, nor can you change out the main dvd player and integrate an aftermarket unit to the factory headrests, but like I said, I haven't dealt with the RS3's yet. I was just wondering about that.

from what i heard about someone who removed their deck, they said the rs3 hu has video outputs on the back, and reccomended they use a signal booster (ebay)

monitors are available on ebay like crazy, if your unsure about buying there, check sposored sales here on SL or even the classifieds...

ps. squirrel had/has a monitor setup in his xB in the cubby - very clean looking, almost OEM

I want a monitor in the front to play video games while I'm driving Just kidding. But it would be nice for my wife, when I am driving. Give her something to do to leave me alone, just kidding about the last part. I think it would be nice not to have to get in the back seat to see the DVD or video games, of course all done in a safe manner. Front passengers need some love too, you know.

xBlong,

I am in the same boat. I would like a lcd screen for the wife to watch.
I'm looking at fixing a screen that fits in the glove box and will slide up and out.
This is a little bit further down on my list but I'll let you know how it comes out.
