A bit after buying my RS3 (wow, around a year ago now...) my right monitor went out. I took it into the dealership I bought it from and they fixed it for free; works great. I thought that they completely replaced the monitor, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Default monitor grief

Its beginning to sound like our problems with the monitors continues to be a dealer wide guessing game, and not an easy strait forward fix.

It looks like a TSB on this issue will never happen.

* Off topic Rant warning *
My dealer treats my Scions like they were trash on the street. There is no way I'm going there to let them have at my interior playing the lets replace one part at a time till we get it right game.

Four wasted trips to get the DC sport muffler replaced on the 2.0, two days and a night at a hotel to have the cam gear replace. Scored a bent core support, gouged up paint, missing brackets, and dust covers for that trip. They keep my RS 4.0 half a day to put a missing one inch square tape section in my bumper appliqué just to scratch the paint and install it crooked. My wifes box got hit with the service guy driving it, they call me to the scene, and leave me to handle all the BS! I'm still not finished playing insurance games on that one.

I freaking hate Toyota service! I have a drama related story with ever experience! That was just the ones this past year!
Can anyone use 12 free oil changes? I'll never use them!
End of rant

This makes no sense, we all have similar problems with one of the two monitors acting up, but each one needs something different to fix it?

Its got to be the same messed up part, or parts, in all of them. Why can't we get someone to step up and help out the ones who have dealerships like mine. PLEASE. Can we try to get a TSB started through the ranks. Please.

Yes. That's another reason I regret going. I added the video amp, and additional screens. I know they'll blame it on that.

i started all these post on head rest here on scionlife 06greenmoster it will be very hard to have them do anything with aftermarket stuff in your car it took me year of bull____.i had to put my stock back in just to get it fixed.scion said if they found out i had stuff in there that was aftermarket would make it very hard to do it with out having me pay for it.because of tmi saying there nothing wrong with there stuff because that who they call to have it fix not tech line.

Well im the latest victim of this problem... Today at a show my monitors started flickering on and off, and then died.. I can turn one on, but the minute I turn the second one on, they flicker then they shut off... But I noticed the infared emitters are blinking... So they didnt die, their still working, something is just screwy somewheres...

hit up member BADBASIC his name is Terry
I took my car in and they replaced the contol module on the monitors. Took about 20 min and never had any problems otherwise or any hassle for the other stereo upgrades done to the car. But any way ask him and he can get you the part number just tell him Jeff(TA2DBOX) sent you to him. Also I will try to find my repair bill and post up any info from it

Got this from a Scikotics member:

The module is located behind the glove box on the right kick panel , its held on with one 12mm bolt that secures the dash frame

there are two boxes mounted together , its the farthest one of the 2 .. the first one is a voltage stablizer .

The part came from
TMI Products inc
1493 Bentley dr
Corona , California 92879
1-800-624-7960 ext 149 or 170

Part # is PTS34-52060-AV AV Control module , the dealer can order it exchanged ..

The dealer can look up
Toyota warrenty Procedure bulliten
no. PRO06-12

this covers all the RS 3 av system ..

Will my extended warranty cover this? The jackasses at the dealer in Eatontown want me to bring the wiring harness to stock before they can look at it and "Properly diagnose it". I used a couple taps on the audio out and the ignition wire... How can i avoid this? I have a business to run and a family to support.
