You can either drill a hole in the metal frame in the head rest and run the wires down the inside of the metal pipe thing or you can just run it down along the metal bracket and straight down the seat. Not sure what yoru talking about with foam attached to the seat. I didn't have this problem when installing mine.

hrmmmm , i did a tesst run a few weks back, and couldnt find an area to actually run the wire down the seat, im prolly just dumbin out, and will figure it out when i get home, but, i seriously couldnt find a way to get the wire routed actually DOWN the back of the seat *INSIDE FABRIC*...i can get the wire into the TOP of the seat, but cant manage to fish it down the rest of the wayu...grrrrr.... ill post up a pic if i can later tonite if i still run into trouble..

really i just wanted to get a head start on this subject as i am running ALL wires tonite for this

sorry its my first stab at doing Video, im rather proficient at running/connecting audio equipment tho , just so u dont think ima total douche..hehe..

To get the wires down through the seat you will have to poke through the foam inside the seat. That's what I had to do on my xb and other vehicles.

I've done this on the TC. Use a fish tape (or coat hangar) and push down right next to the button on the headrest adjust and feed the tape thru. It will go and works as a very clean install.

figured it out, ima moron....ok, sooo what did u guys tap into for the power? i was THINKING the cigg lighter, buut here is my dilemma....

i will be using my cathodes (already ON the cigg lighter wire) and the power inverter also, for NOW since im lazy, will be just plugged into the cigg lighter...

now i think that is way to much load for that circuit right? so any other suggestions as to what wire to tap into?

thanks in advance all

My monitors and second dvd player are wired to relays connected to a fused distribution block that also supplies power to my amp.

that is probaby the route i am going to take...do you think that 10 gauge wire is enough to split? that is what i have running from the batt, it came w my sub tube...i have only a 100 watt audiobahn amp , and will have 2 wires running off it if i split it, i mean thats ALL i would have, i would run thincker gauge wire if i hooked ANYthing else up to it...

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by splitting the wire, but I recommend getting a distribution block and connect your amp and monitors to that.

its running from my batt to the amp..i would just split it halfway w the distro block, connect it , and add my additional power line to the other opening in the distro block..

guess what i was saying is, the 10 gauge wire, is that sufficient to run tot he distro block, and handle the amp, AND 2 screens?

No problem what so ever. Just make sure each individual item on the dist block is fused and the main feed line is fused.

Well, I know the screens will pull about 2 amp max together. The cig lighter is fused with a 10 amp fuse if I recall right. I tapped into the cig lighter line with mine.

What size fuse is with your cathodes?

What size inverter are you running.

I would run the inverter off the 10 gauge amp line (fused of course).

i dont think relays will draw too much current. it should be fine sitting on there with the cathodes.

i would agree on moving the invertor if you plan on using it permanently..

i will run the inverter as a permanent fixtture oneday really soon, but in the interim, i need this to be quick and easy.

the cathodes have NO fuse, they are hooked up just like randodes, off the cigg lighter, its after the fuse, i figured it was good...

the inverter is a 300 watt one, i will be plugging PS2 and thats IT into it....

please advise nopi is drawing nearer and nearer lol

It should be good off the main cig fuse, I just like to fuse each item for it's own power rating. No problem.

There is one way to see if it's too much. Tap the cig line for the screens, power everything up and let it fly. Worst case, you blow the fuse for the cig. I just don't know how much power those cathodes are pulling. In your favor, it is a small inverter.
