Satalite option
My tc came with the pioneer radio with the sat capability. I did not get the sat due to dealer price.
Can the sat box be added easily? Can you hook up any brand sat receiver to the stock head unit?
Where did you place your antenna?

yes you can use any reciever..... i had best buy install my xm radio... i got a delphi skyfi2 reciever....... the reciever sits either in my cup holder or i have it angled by the ash tray to see it better... i just didnt want anything mounted anywhere...
a receiver sat box for the stock headunit, only one will work and that's the one from scion..
the other option is to get an aftermarket satellite radio add-on that it's audio can be routed into a line-in adapter such as PIE's Toy03-aux.. and you don't really need best buy to install it.. it's a good way for them to mess up your tC.. too many horror stories outweigh the good ones from best buy.. it's not difficult to do.. there are do it yourself guides here on this forum.. also you can use the built in FM modulators that some kits have such at Kenwood's sirius unit at Crutchfield.. that way you don't have to install anything and less risk of a best buy type person getting their hands on your tC..
here's a link to that unit

but an aftermarket pioneer sat receiver box will NOT work with the stock headunit..
the antenna can be routed to behind the mast antenna on the rear of the tC..

I called the dealer about getting Sirius hooked up in my Scion tC, my car has the single disk "satellite ready" radio. The total for parts and labor is $695.00... The parts alone are $495.00. This is ridiculous especially when they referred to the radio as "satellite ready" when I bought the car... An aftermarket CD player with sirius already set up in it is way cheaper....
HOWEVER, I want to use the stock single disk Pioneer for my sirius reception so I did some homework. www.McGeorgeparts.com is an online supplier of Toyota and SCION parts and they are selling both parts required for the SIRIUS radio for only $266.66. The two parts you need are:
PTS31-00051(SIRIUS Satellite Radio Fit Kit) - $88.88
PTS31-00050(SIRIUS Satellite Radio Receiver Kit) - $177.75

I just ordered mine yesterday... Does anyone know how difficult these are to install? I'm hoping it is merely something that plugs into the back of the CD unit and then just putting the antenna on the outside of the car.
DOES ANYONE HAVE INSTALL DIRECTIONS???? When I complete my install I will let you know how it goes...

Because I have my iPod hooked with neoION, I got my XM SkyFI 2 hooked also with neoION thru the input line on the OEM stereo. I did not made the mistake to put the xm antena outside, it's sitting by front window right corner with an exeptional reception. Intalled my self with the car kit from Best Buy,
Total cost 149$.
