Save your $$$ Don't Buy the SCION Sub-Read here
ALL,
I bought a Bazooka CS8A sub (not the CS8A5P) for $89.00 at Pepboys. It is the same as the original EL8A sub that was available for the SCION. The new SCION sub is the EL8AHP which is supposedly 50W larger.
Anyway, buy any Bazooka Sub or other powered sub and use the following wiring harness from Toyota to hook it up:
Toyota Scion Part Number: PTS20-52040-WH :D
I got this harness for $59.00 from a SCION of Long Beach--they only had one on the shelf, so don't go running up your phone bill calling them.
Total cost $148.00 for the entire setup. :D
Total cost of the same crap from SCION---$350
Spend the $200 on something better for your ride...
BTW, the Crutchfield FAST Harness made by Bazooka is $10 cheaper but is NOT a direct fit to the stereo, some modifications are necessary according to another member who did an install using that harness.
Finally, it appears to me that this setup of harness and tube will work on nearly ANY Toyota stereo system as the wiring harnesses are the same.
Maybe one of the MODS will make this sticky... :?:

I would like to see a pic of the harness too. I just ordered an Infinity basslink and was planning to run the speaker wires from deck to the back and back to the front and was hoping to avoid this. Maybe this wiring harness would be compatible.

I will post photos on Monday--camera issues...
The harness is a Toyota Part so it hooks directly to the Toyota electrical.
It hooks in just like the Crutchfield FAST Harness does, in line with the harness from the vehicle prior to the stereo. It is all plug and play. There are no RCAs, it is a direct wire hookup.
For example, the wiring harness that comes with the Bazooka CS8A gives you a couple of options, direct wiring or RCAs. This harness eliminates that--it plugs directly into the Tube.
The only wire that requires any work is the ground, which you hook up to one of the seat bolts.

here's another suggestion: don't buy the sub at pep boys either. those bazooka subs are terrible. you barely hear any bass with those things, compared to a sub enclosure like the one SPFR and audioformz have. the only benfit to the bazooka is that it's self powered and way easy to hook up compared to an amp and sub. plus it's cheaper. but a lot of people have been disappointed by the pretty weak bass coming from those bazookas.
i'm not trying to talk trash, i just wanted to let people know that if you want a lot of bass, this is not the best way to go. plus it takes up a lot of trunk space.

haha...thats funny..."save your money, don't buy a SCION"...actually though I don't even drive a Scion, I drive a lifted, 4WD, supercharged, 3.4L Tacoma...but I did put a Scion head unit in it and the sub...sounds great in my Tacoma...
Toyotas are great...thats all I own...I would definitely recommend the Scion to anyone who wanted a good ride with lots of toys for low dough...
I joined the board to find a deal on the head unit....just thought I would share my experience in saving a few bucks for improved sound...and thats all I wanted for my truck...
If I wanted a cost no object system, all I need to do is drive my wifes GS430 with the Mark and Levinson system....that thing really rocks...and its a damn sweet ride...

total cost for the harness and sub was less than $150. You can't add some low end to any system for that cheap.
If you want "shake your bowels loose" type bass then this is NOT it, but it adds a whole lot of low end to the stock system and makes it sound a whole hell of a lot better then stock.
The 'you could do a lot better than Bazooka' comments are old...we all get it dude...if you want to drop a couple K into your system, don't buy Bazooka...got it...ok got it.
Quit impressing everyone with your ability spend two thousand dollars on a stereo system for your fifteen thousand dollar car...that oh by the way you wouldn't get an extra $100 for if you had to trade it in today for another ride.
As for the wiring diagram question, goto www.bazooka.com, the wiring diagrams are available for every sub.
