Default Scion factory head unit

I recently purchased a 12 inch kicker sub and a 600 watt amp, am I going to have to purchase a head unit or does the factory head unit have RCA outs? and what head unit will actually fit in the spot?

EDIT: I have the 06 scion head unit with the Ipod hookups

I just recently got a 10 inch Kicker installed with a 450 watt amp.

I got it installed at best buy for $208. There was the charge for labor and a $110 charge for wiring.

But to answer your question, no, there is no outputs for a sub on the stock headunit, however, getting an adapter is relatively cheap. I had to buy one for mine, but best buy will get that stuff for you when they install it.

Oh and as another note: it is cheaper to get the adapter than to get a new headunit and have it installed as well.

you can use a converter, but ultimately, getting an aftermarket headunit is your best bet. you can get a great deck for right around $300.00. and the best part is you won't ever be disappointed because the sound quality will improve tremendously. trust me. i tried building a system around the factory radio and it just isn't worth it. for some extra dough, you can make the stuff you buy sound much louder and cleaner and in the end you'll be happier with your purchases.

agreed. Just use a line out convertor til' you get a new HU. That's what i did, although the LOC on the stock pioneer wasn't too shabby.
