Since no one answered - I checked the manual...
I got the Scion Security, the red/blue/crystal one that's listed as an option on the website. It's a "beep" or "chirp" not a "honk", it uses a Piezo Electric chirper under the hood instead of the horn. It has a glass break sensor, a little microphone right next to the alarmed light. The manual even tells you how to test that.
I don't know if you can turn the Piezo beep off or not, but I like it. Nice and quiet. The sun is almost too freaking bright in Phoenix to see the lights flash sometimes, and the locks clicking over is quiet, hard to hear in a busy parking lot if you are walking away.
I went with the Scion one just to keep it factory. I like taking it to one place to get things fixed if there is an issue, but that's just me.

I have no beep or chirp on my scion security. I took it to toyota and they told me its not supposed to have one?

how would this be enabled?

I want the chirp. Its useful in finding my car in crowded parking areas.

The only people I have known to get thiers to chirp dont have the factory scion alarm, they have something else. I have never seen one factory Scion alarm system that made any noise whatsoever. Granted, I dont want mine to make noise, so I am happy with the way it is, so I havent really tried to make it do otherwise.

One person simply wired a piezo buzzer circuit to the alarm to make it work. The stock does not have a peizo element.
