I picked up the factory iPod dock option for my xB when I purchased it 2.5 years ago. Recently on a trip, I needed to use the minijack in instead of the iPod connection, and much to my dismay, it didn't work.

Is this a side effect of having the iPod dock? Are the two mutually exclusive?

 

Is the ipod plugged in too? try having only the aux plugged in and try that. I'd test it myself but I don't own an ipod.

 

I tried a couple of different things -

1. With the car off, plug in the minijack to the other audio input device, plug in to Aux jack, turn on car.
2. Remove iPod dock cable.

Each time, hitting the AUX button on the head unit doesn't swap to the input coming in from the minijack.

 

Is the minijack connected? The center console is removed easily, and you can verify that the harness is still connected.

 

I'll have to take a look - is there a link to some instructions on how to remove the center console?
