My dome light does not come on when the driver door is open, the other doors make the light come on. I just recently noticed this while working on my car. Now I can't program my Scion Security system becuase I have to open and close the driver door during programming and it doesn't seem to recognize the door is open.

 

I checked all the fuses under the dash and hood.. Nothing bad. Is there any other way to program the RKE without having to open and close the driver door? maybe a different door or something?

 

sounds like the door switch is bad maybe

 

I removed the one from the back door and tried it up front, still nothing

 

I figured it out... I remember my dome lights worked fine before, up until recently. It doesn't work if the speedometer isn't hooked up. Because I have the whole dash out. I figured I'd plug it in and see.. It works ;)
