Default sensor for neutral in std xb?

I would like to have a remote start on the XB, but it's Std. So I'd need to sense that the parking brake is on and that it's not in GEAR before I overrode the clutch switch. Sounds dangerous as he!!, that's got to be why I can't find anything in a package. BUT, if there was something that was accurate and precise, I think that this could be done.

The override of the clutch is a matter of finding that cutoff and bypassing, nbd.
The e Brake already has a switch to tell you it's on, nbd.
I need an infrared sensor to determine that the stick is in the neutral position. Anyone know where I could get one?

This would be different than a sensor for cruise, since I'm gussing that is more of a running RMP cutoff or something?

There is a NSS wire in our xBs,I know its black just have to find it.. That is the same thing I'm looking for. I'm putting in my Viper tonight. A word of caution DO NOT EVER PARK YOUR xB IN GEAR...... I have worked at a car stereo shop for eight years part time. I have put remote satarts on every car and truck I've owned. About half of them were std gears. I had a friend who was an Alpine rep. He had remote start in his Ford Probe Alpine demo vehicle. He loaned his car to his father in law. Neadless to say they had a drive though garage. :D

LOL. That's what I want to avoid.. NEED to make sure there's a way to be sure it's in neutral. I don't want to press a button and watch my car drive away mowing people down at a bus stop or something. So there IS a sensor that tells you it's in neutral? Why then are the remote start kits not available for Std? I thought the netural sensing for the cruise was not a "gear selection" thing so much as a "sudden increase in RPM" thing.. Let me know what you find out. I'm having cruise installed this week ($260 installed, so I'm not doing it myself ). I'll make sure to ask them about it too.

most competent installers (not me ) should be able to tell you where to get one if they don't have one already. I know when I got my alarm the remote start on the pager was an option, but I know my dad leaves cars parked in gear and I didn't want to have the whole drive through garage option at my apartment complex...
