I've had my XB for three days now and just noticed this evening that the power mirror, dimmer, and autotrac controls to the left of the steering wheel aren't lit .

Are they supposed to light up, or do I have to get used to feeling around for them?

 

nope, they don't like up...one of the downsides of a sub-$15k car

 

The only thing to the left of the steering wheel that lights up is the driver's window switch. I guess we don't adjust the mirrors at night. Or adjust the gauge illumination... :?

 

Ok, dont feel bad. My moms 26k Camry SE doesnt even have lighted switches!! only the drivers power window-thats it! the TRAC button nor does the mirrors and other window switches light up. Come to think of it -My pop's 4Runner(2003) is the same way- I think its a Toyota thing. My 2000 Focus SE had all lighted window switches-front and rear- and all door locks and the light switch was illuminated as well. BUT the car was very unreliable- so it seems like Toyota puts thier money in better things. I was impressed that the spedo glows white at night. I was expecting a ugly orange glow- but was suprised the first time i turned my lights on....

 

my old '01 prius' and new '04 sienna's switches don't light up either. the only button lights up is the driver's auto window. for the prius, aftermarket co sells an led mounted above the mirror button to light up that area.
