Default Skfi2 and External XM Radio owners, i need your help

ok, i've had my Skyfi2 for as long as i've had my car. but, mounting it has always been the downfall. i had it mounted on the gooseneck that connected to the bolt on the passengers seat rail. but, it was constantly hit by everyone's knees, this didn't allow me to pull the seat all the way forward for "conversation seating" and i had trouble getting into the glovebox sometimes. long story short, it ended up breaking on me, which is good because it was alot of trouble. a little hard to see in the pic, but you see how crowded it got

anyways, i tried the vent mount that came with it, but i don't trust it. our vent fins are flimsy and it would block the all ready weak fan from blowing a/c.

i didn't want to try the mount that has the sticky pad on it, because i figured it wouldn't stick to the rice paper dash, and i couldn't hide the wires well.

then i tried and ordered a cup mount, which i got today. but it sits so high, i can't shift without bumping it. even if i put it in the back cup holder. so thats a no go

so, i bought the suction cup mount for the windshield. i figure i will mount it high on the passenger side and have the xm radio next to the rear view mirror. i hope this one works

what did you guys do?

I did the vent mount on the drivers vent to the left of the dash cluster because:
A: That vent never stayed pointed at me for longer that 15secs
B: In that location it is really easy to run the wires to the power and antenna in the back.

PS I have a Skyfi2, got it new from xm with the car kit and overnight shipping AND three months service for only $130!!! thanks to fatwallet!

i was going to do the ventmount on the drivers side, but my friends always want to check and see whats on, so, it would be greedy of me to keep it all to myself.

i contacted pro-fit, maybe they will make something for our cars in the future. it wouldn't be too hard to make a bracket that goes on top of the center vent area

Go to circuit city and tell them you want to special order a profit mount. the model number for it is PFI SC5105L. I have one for my MYFI and it works great. Ill have to wait till I get home to post a picture. I am at work bored lol.

Dynomyte:
the sticker (which is actually metal w/ an adhesive backing) came with the obx shift ****--i thought it looked kinda cool, and also if someone else was gonna drive the car it would be nice to let them know what gears are where (even though it is the standard 5-speed pattern, you never know what some people might do--not that i'd willingly let people that dumb drive my car, but you never know)

How do these two kinda wire in and work? Does the MyFi use FM to transmit so you just basically preset your SAT to a button on FM? What about the XM Commander?

Thanks!
